Capital Credits

When's the last time you received a check from your utility provider?

Capital credits are a unique benefit of being a member-owner of an electric cooperative. As a not-for-profit organization, the cooperative operates at cost, and any revenue collected beyond expenses is returned to members as margins. These margins are allocated to members each year as capital credits based on their electricity use and represent their ownership in the cooperative. When financial conditions allow, the Board of Directors approves the payout of these credits back to members.

Because members may move or change contact information over time, some capital credit payments go unclaimed. Members are encouraged to use the search tool to check for any unclaimed capital credits in their name, or in the name of a former member, family member, or friend.
